Dreading Valentine’s Day because you don’t have a significant other? You may have heard of the law of attraction or manifestation to help find love.  In its essence, the law of attraction is the act of manifesting some desire into your life.  The key is to think positively and to give energy, focus and attention to whatever it is you want.  Write down these thoughts and feel what it’s like to attain your goal will help manifest your dreams.

And, there is more that can be done to attract a mate.  I certainly do invoke the law of attraction—but with a couple  added boosts. The law of attraction is far more powerful when you use the energy in your home to help manifest your dreams.

The energy in your home or office should be as positive as possible to help you achieve what you desire. Get rid of stale, negative energies and replace them with positive, life-affirming energy.  The first step is to do a deep cleaning. Next,   remove clutter and  organize whatever is left.

If you want to meet someone by Valentine's day, just concentrate on raising the energy in your bedroom.

Open your windows and allow fresh air into your home. Surround yourself with only objects that you love and that feel good to you. We are all interconnected—people, objects and animals.  So, the stuff that surrounds you either brings you up or it brings you down. The idea is to live in a clean and organized space that is filled with positive energy.  This energy will raise your own vital energy to make you more successful at manifesting your desires.

The final step  is to pick an object that represents your aspiration and to place it in an auspicious spot with the intent that its energy will help you achieve this goal.  When you visualize your goal, focusing on this object will help you visualize the successful outcome.  For example, if you are looking to meet a mate, a beautiful vase with flowers can represent love.  When you visualize meeting someone new, concentrate on this vase and feel what it’s like to be in love.

This placement of objects is the basis of Western Feng Shui.  I explain how to place objects in detail to manifest whatever it is you desire in Harmonious Environment.

I will be celebrating with my husband our 9th  Valentine's Day. We met based on the work I describe in my book.  The law of attraction is really very powerful!

Yesterday, I was cleaning my shower door and some mist from the bottle  got into my eyes. For a second or two I felt the slightest irritation, then nothing.  It dawned on me that, had I been using a commercial glass cleaner, my eyes would have been in a whole lot of pain. Instead, because I use a mix of vinegar and water, there was no problem.

I got a sample of some chemical based shampoo and conditioner in the mail and for some perverse reason,  decided to test then out. Now, I've been using natural products for years and have a "shampoo bar" of my favorites. They are infused with natural scents and I love to smell my hair after washing it.

So, I used the products yesterday.  It wasn't until I dried my hair that I noticed how overpowering the stink was.  Artificial, overpowering stink! I almost washed my hair again, but it is long and thick and I was too lazy. Instead, I tortured my husband with the stink when he got home.

First thing this morning, the smell in my hair wafted up and assaulted me. I have it tied back now. It's amazing, when you get used to natural products, the chemical ones really do become overpowering. Never doing that again.

Our smell memory outlasts other forms of memory. Is this why we become so attached to certain smells? I ask this question, because I have met many people who, while willing to make some "green" changes, "can't" seem to let go of their household cleaners for safer ones.

I've been told that "it doesn't smell clean" without the use of harsh chemicals. A few years ago, I went to my mother's house after the cleaning woman had been there. I had been using natural products for years already and remember feeling assaulted by the powerful odors!

People just get used to the powerful smells and associate them with "clean." Trust me, once you switch and get used to the new light and pleasant aroma of non-toxic products, you will not miss the chemical stink.
