 Photographs: Organize Clutter

nnn

This laundry room was a disaster area.    A pegboard held a few objects and stuff was jammed onto shelves and on the floor of this six by six foot room.

In addition to the need to be organized, the  room had to be cleaned and painted.

The washer and dryer were pulled out and the room was gutted.  Spackle, caulk, primer and, finally, no-voc paint jazzed up the room.  Biodegradable,  natural Marmoleum linoleum in bright colors replaced the old vinyl.

Storage space was limited in this modest-sized home, so organization and removal of unused products was of paramount importance.

The room is gutted

A functional, funky laundry room

Like a medicine cabinet, laundry rooms tend to collect products that were used once or twice then abandoned to collect dust on a shelf for years.

Toxic and unneeded products were discarded and were replaced with  biodegradable, non-toxic items.

Enamel-coated grids were installed on walls and s-hooks and baskets hung onto grids.  The grids now hold cleaning appliances and  often-used tools.

Clean, organized and even pretty, doing laundry is now just a little bit less painful for this family!
