to stop global warming: www.stopglobalwarming.org We cannot wait for a change in government rules and regulations regarding the extent to which corporations are allowed to pollute our land, waterways and air. Nor can we afford to wait until the government informs us of what is safe to put into our mouths, and on bodies or what objects and cleaners are safe to use in our homes and work spaces. We must take care of ourselves by only supporting those manufacturers and farmers that provide us with clean products and food. Support only corporations that take strong measures to ensure that they are not polluting the environment and conduct business with humanitarian practices. When the number of environmentally-conscious consumers makes an impact on the financial health of a corporation, change is imminent. When corporations do not move product they will either change what is offensive, or their business will die. That is the beauty of a capitalist society; success is measured by financial strength. And, we as the consumer have the power to determine which companies survive. Because interest in safe products for the environment and the consumer are growing rapidly, the choices—from food to furniture to clothing to cars—are better than ever. The internet is the single best resource for finding these great products and new choices pop up daily. Catalogs are also a good choice for finding products that will sustain your healthy lifestyle. There are now hundreds of businesses selling great products and a comprehensive listing can be found in “Resources” at the end of Harmonious Environment: Beautify, Detoxify and Energize Your Life, Your Home and Your Planet. I am happy to say that I have noticed lately that mainstream catalogs are labeling products that are environmentally-sound or healthy. For example, I recently purchased a beautiful bench from Gardener’s Supply Company. Next to the photograph and description was the Sustainably Harvested Wood icon! Increasingly, mainstream catalog companies are only too happy to report when a product is natural, non-toxic, recycled, and so on. Finding good products for your body, home and planet is easier than ever! You will discover how deeply satisfying it is to clean out your home of toxic and unsafe products and replacing them with safe and healthy alternatives that are good for you and the planet.
